DiIorio Farms and Roadside Market is conveniently near the town of Hempstead. The market was first opened in 1963, and is now open all year round. We are open 7 days per week. The public is invited to come and enjoy the atmosphere of a country farmers market. The DiIorio's have been in the farming industry for over eighty years. Our specialty crops are watermelons, corn, tomatoes, beans, peas, squash, and fruit of all types. The market features large displays of #1 quality fruit and vegetables. The DiIorio Farms jams, jellies, salad dressings, preserves, pickles are a favorite for our shoppers. We have local honey which is very good for allergies.

Watermelons are our #1 favorite. Hempstead is famous for the sweet delicious fruit. The soil makes them sweeter! The largest watermelon for DiIorio Farms is 139 lbs. The Hempstead Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual Watermelon Festival on the third Saturday in July. This watermelon took home the prize as the largest of the festival.
